Prov’l Board lauds Ombud for caravan of gov’t services
ROXAS CITY – Capiceños have expressed gratitude and commended the efforts of the various government agencies in Western Visayas in delivering social services in Capiz.
In the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 57, series of 2010, the province has commended the Office of the Ombudsman for the Visayas Regional Office 6 for conducting a two-day caravan of government services in Capiz recently.
In said resolution, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan stated that the caravan aimed to strengthen the Office of the Ombudsman’s partnership and linkages with the different government agencies in its thrust and fight against graft and corruption with President Aquino’s banner statement “Kung Walang Corrupt, Walang Mahirap” as the heart of the project.
“The Office of the Ombudsman’s efforts in curbing graft and corruption by way of promoting public accountability awareness among government officials and employees as mandated by Republic Act 3019, otherwise known as the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, have undoubtedly produced positive results in the province of Capiz,” it added.
Accordingly, the medical and dental mission that the different line agencies spearheaded by the Office of the Ombudsman has conducted also benefited scores of Capiceños, thus redounded to the enhancement t of the Provincial Government’s health services.
Associate Graft Investigator Evangeline Nuñal of the Office of the Ombudsman in Western Visayas said she appreciates the gesture of the people of Capiz for realizing that their office is not merely for investigating people in the government but a partner for development.
Nuñal stressed that government efforts should have the support of the community, particularly to stamp out corruption that affects the economy and lives of the Filipinos.*PIA
